From fourthway comes now a handy tool to draw some interesting comparisons: The Real Underground allows you to morph the current London Underground Map into the 1933 Harry Beck design and into the geographically accurate configuration. Unfortunately, at present it does so only for an excerpt of the map. Still, the comparison is quite interesting. To me as non-Londoner it was surprising to see how much the two underground maps differ, but also how generalised in fact the geographic situation is.
