But it is by no means restricted to that application area. With the <a href=\"http:\/\/cran.r-project.org\/web\/packages\/\">vast ecosystem of libraries<\/a> (currently 4,867) such as the great <a href=\"http:\/\/ggplot2.org\/\">ggplot2<\/a>, R&#8217;s functionality can be extended in a myriad of ways. Among others, I have used R for advanced statistics, plotting complex stratified graphics that would be hard to achieve using common desktop software\u00a0and for clustering spatio-temporal point data.<\/p>\n<p>If you are new to R or want to heighten your skill level, this set of video tutorials by\u00a0Anthony Damico\u00a0may just be for you: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twotorials.com\">http:\/\/www.twotorials.com<\/a>. Each tutorial is self-contained and lasts two minutes or less.
