The information is visualised in a spider chart with eight personality dimensions.<br \/>\nTypealyzer is the doing of Mattias Ostmar and Jon K\u00e5gstr\u00f6m, the\u00a0former being a (self-described) <em>media and communication geek<\/em> and Communication Analyst at Sweden-based PRfekt. Mattias specialises in psychological text analysis. Besides Typealyzer he has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mattiasostmar.net\/projects#\">several other projects in that field<\/a>. Typealyzer is inspired by several psychological frameworks, the one by <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Carl Jung\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carl_Jung\">C. G. Jung<\/a> of personality types being the most foundational one. The method works using a bayesian classifier trained on a collection of sample texts. The classifier looks at word frequencies in the blog analysed and connects these to different personality types. They live in the present moment and don\u00b4t like to plan ahead (&#8230;)&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>:-)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At this point I must say I was rather disappointed that Typealyzer detected almost exclusively left-hemisphere-activity in the authors of above blogs. Could I find a blog which is mostly right-leaning, brain-activity-wise?<\/p>\n<p>To the rescue come (more or less):<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/stitchywitch.wordpress.com\">Stitchywitch<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 a blog on sewing and knitting:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/stitchywitch_blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-233\" title=\"Stitchywitch blog on Typealyzer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/stitchywitch_blog.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well played, Sir, well played.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates for the spirituality dimension encompassed: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awakeblogger.com\/\">www.awakeblogger.com<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiritualityandpractice.com\/\">www.spiritualityandpractice.com<\/a>\u00a0and the one-and-only <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiritualblog.com\">www.spiritualblog.com<\/a>. But, to no avail, all these resulted in &#8220;Scientist&#8221; or &#8220;Thinker&#8221; personality types :-\/<\/p>\n<p>What about the idealism dimension? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idealist.org\/blog\">www.idealist.org\/blog<\/a> yielded a &#8220;Mechanic&#8221; personality type. Though, a sure bet for intuition, spirituality and idealism dimension was the <strong><a href=\"www.visnews-en.blogspot.com\/\">Vatican Information Service<\/a><\/strong>:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/visnews_blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-235\" title=\"Vatican Information Service on Typealyzer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/visnews_blog.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/visnews_blog.jpg 449w, https:\/\/www.ralphstraumann.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/visnews_blog-300x232.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The meaning-seeking and unconventional type. They are especially attuned to making sure their beliefs and actions are congruent. They often develop a passion for the arts or unusual forms of self-expression. They enjoy work that are aligned to their deeply felt values and tend to strongly dislike the more practical and mundane forms of tasks. (&#8230;)&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wow. Wonder what the &#8220;unusual forms of self-expression&#8221; is a euphemism for ;-)<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgewbush.com\/\">www.georgewbush.com<\/a><\/strong> I can see the intuition\/imagination (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Truthiness\">truthiness<\/a>? <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Weapons_of_Mass_Destruction\">WMDs<\/a>?) dimension. But come on, Typealyzer, a scientist&#8217;s personality type!?<\/p>\n<p>Conclusion: Typealyzer is definitely a fun tool, although it doesn&#8217;t give a very precise measure in all situations (but that&#8217;s also not claimed by anyone). Additionally to the web interface, Typealyzer also offers its functionality under a CC-BY-license through an <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Application programming interface\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Application_programming_interface\">API<\/a>.
